Had the best gyro in a long time this past Sunday at the Taste of Gyro. I'm glad I stopped at this very out of the way location. I happened to drive by it on this quiet residential street and was so intrigued that a restaurant would even be on this corner. Had to be good...right? And it was. I only had the namesake dish but saw dios and plates going out to another table and all looked legit. And big portions. The decore was low key Mediterranean and clean. And the folks running it felt like Family. The service wasn't super quick but worth the wait for freshly prepared food. Though it did look like wait times for food could get long if they're busy. I can't wait to get back here to try more of the menu.

Absolutely delicious! The gyro had the perfect balance of spices, tender meat, and fresh veggies. It's a flavor explosion in every bite! The tzatziki sauce was creamy and tangy, enhancing the overall experience. Definitely worth every penny. I can't wait to order again!

Really enjoyed stopping off in Astoria on the way back from NYC to try a local Greek eateries gyros. They were flavorful and fresh. The owner was pleasant. The decor was kitschy and slightly charming. The wait for 2 Gyros to go was a bit long as people were coming in to pick up phone orders.. so when my order was finally done it wasn't mine. Lol. So think nice cute shop, not fast grab and go. Might take a bit if they have other orders going. Probable best to come here, sit and enjoy a relaxed bite. Casual sit down or take out.

Very nice and authentic Greek restaurant. Very quiet and a good place to have a family meal. The prices are not bad at all. I had the lemon potatoes and the Lukaniko (lemon infused grilled sausage) was very good. I need to try their avgolemono soup next. Will definitely go there again

Small spot on a residential corner, but it was absolutely delicious. The kitchen is staffed by actual Greek chefs and the pride in the food shows. We had hummus, spicy feta dip, and fried calamari to start. Let me tell you, I've eaten A LOT of fried calamari over the years and this is the BEST calamari I've had in my life-- I think it was only a special thought, but if it's available, GET IT! The hummus and spicy feta were also outstanding. For my meal I had the pork gyro-delicious! And it comes with some fries on it that are seasoned fantastically. I had some rice pudding for dessert which is made in house, and is also amazing. Can't wait to come back!

"Just wanted to call you to let you know your food is amazing" .... I think I scared the poor guy on the phone. My sister's boyfriend told me months ago about this place. Being that I work in the middle of nowhere it's tough to order takeout that will be $20+. Came back from a vacation and didn't have time to prep lunch so I decided to order from here. My god, my poor wallet for future takeout from here. Ordered through grubhub and purchased the lamb platter with lemon potatoes. A nice lady called to let me know the lemon potatoes won't be ready for another 2 hours ( I ordered around 10:30am) she suggested the mixed vegetables. Ouffffffffff the mixed vegetables were to die for. Cooked in a stew finish the flavor was packed in every bite. Melts in your mouth this was cooked for a very long time. Now I'm so curious to see how their lemon potatoes are. The salad was small, but understandable who eats salad except for me! The price for the platter was worth it, every bite made in this plastic container was never a disappointment. I'm excited knowing there is leftover to save for tomorrow lunch. Now I don't normally do this but I had to call them to let them know how much I enjoyed the meal. A gentleman picked up and was nervous. I think I almost gave him a fright but after the compliments were coming out of my mouth I felt him sigh with relief. Sir, if you are reading this I'm so sorry! The food was amazing and I will be a recurring customer twice a month. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Stopped by to grab take out. It is a very cute Greek restaurant and spacious. I ordered two pitas one with chicken souvlaki and one with lamb gyro. Both were so delicious and came filled with onions and fries. I saw a lot of other Greek patrons and it's definitely a neighborhood joint. Would definitely come back and try other items. The owner was also very kind and the service was quick.

This is such a hidden gem in Astoria . It is a husband , wife , daughter restaurant that surpasses my expectations every single time . I love their lamb gyro , my best friend loved their chicken gyro , the best we have ever had , and we have had many living in Astoria . I also had a cod fish special with lemon potatoes , again the flavor , the texture is something I have yet to find in another Greek restaurant and I have lived here for the last 15 years. Do yourself favor and check them out . The service is amazing , always hospitable and extremely welcoming. , but not overbearing . The Ambiance is super cute , as though you were in Greece .
